In response to the national strategy of innovation-driven development and to cultivate top-tier innovative and entrepreneurial talent for the new era, DBJI successfully held its kick-off meeting for the 2026 China International College Students' Innovation Competition on the evening of April 22, 2026, in Room B105, Haichuan Building. The meeting specially invited Prof. Gao Junfeng, Vice Dean of DBJI, and Prof. Wu Zhenyu, Vice Dean of the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, as keynote speakers.

Prof. Gao Junfeng began by providing students with a detailed overview of the International Track, a key focus area for DBJI, highlighting the specific advantages that DBJI students hold in this track. He then walked through the eligibility criteria and competition rules, encouraging students to fully leverage DBJI's international resources and actively collaborate with international students in their competition entries. Prof. Gao also reviewed outstanding performance of DBJI in previous competitions. To date, DBJI students have won one Gold Award, three Silver Awards, and six Bronze Awards. He notably shared the success story of the DBJI's Gold Award win in 2023, urging students to take full advantage of international collaborative education strengths of the institute to broaden their global perspectives. Prof. Gao also detailed the college's funding and financial support policies, emphasizing the institution's strong commitment to supporting students' innovation and practical initiatives.

Prof. Wu Zhenyu was then invited to share his in-depth experience. Drawing on his extensive background in guiding innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives, Prof. Wu gave a thorough breakdown of the background, competition structure, and expected timeline of the 2026 China International College Students' Innovation Competition, based on previous editions. He focused particularly on excellent past entries, step-by-step analysis of their key strengths, and pointed out scoring highlights that contributed to their success. Prof. Wu also provided strategic advice to students on how to identify the right goals and transform their existing resources into competitive advantages during the contest.

The meeting emphasized that the China International College Students' Innovation Competition serves as an important platform for broadening international perspectives, deepening industry-education integration, and enhancing interdisciplinary practical skills. DBJI will take this meeting as a new starting point to further fuel students' passion for innovation and entrepreneurship, fully integrate its high-quality international resources, and empower students to shine on the global stage.
